The equipment for Riberas did not get shipped yesterday as promised but it will be shipped on Monday so it looks like the upgrade will not take place until Tuesday of next Week.

For the last couple of  months  we have had some service issues in Riberas del Pilar which includes Mirasol,  we have some severe interference in that area and have  suffered from this in the past, in any case we will be replacing the equipment, most likely on Tuesday  morning, we had scheduled doing it this weekend but unfortunately there where some issues with the new equipment. We hope to have service running smoothly later  Tuesday in the afternoon, for those disgruntled clients, we understand your frustrations, for our other clients we truly appreciate your patience.

once we have implemented the upgrade we will post it here.

Today the season has started for me… literally, no its not the rainy season , and no the snowbirds are not flocking in, but to the contrary, people are leaving, its getting warmer and maybe there are not so many activities. I  have been keeping a log over the last 12 years and the broken record has pretty much turned in to dust, from being played so many times.

In the old days we had  issues of people calling, hardly being able to hear them on the phone, and yet complaining about not being able to connect because of a soggy phone line, things are not much different  today,  whether, heat and moisture affects things a little differently, for the phone company they have issues with humidity, and heat,  copper does expand, wireless has times of the year where there is a bit of sun fade and sometimes intereference which can slow things down, time of day and  heat  and cold affects everything just as it can affect the starting of your car, or in the summer your car overheating.

So what can you expect from Lagunanet this season, in a worse case scenario lightning hitting a tower which has happened, and is usually back and running in  a day or so in other instances service will slow down during certain times of the day.

Today I had two clients calling first because service was slow, then an hour later it was fine, yes the Internet is like a freeway, sometimes its slow, sometimes its fast, I receive many calls in a day and of course its the usual scenario its been down and I need the service, and yes we do realize that reliability is very important.

Dedicated service

Many people say they need dedicated service, no downtime, well we would all like that, but there are options, you can get a dedicated E1 which are quite costly but they do guarantee a maximum of 4 hours downtime but you definately have to weigh the cost versus reliability.

The other option is having two services, if one goes down the other will most likely be up, which for me is a bit overkill, but if I was a courier using mechanical transportation I would definitely want a second vehicle if my business depended on it.

After several weeks of battling with e-mail filters and spam, we believe the issue has been resolved, we have resorted to filtering e-mail by manually, please note that there have been many e-mails going out supposedly from administrator, please disregard those, any news we need to be posted we will post here on our blog, so please do not answer any of those phishing e-mails much less clieck on them .

Most of the stuff we can block by subject we have managed to block a major part of the spam coming in as Viagra ambien etc, but are still working on a lot of stuff that is trickling in.
